Plant Sales

Get a refill for your garden! The Wildflower Center holds Spring and Fall Plant Sales and Gardening Festivals at the Center. These are opportunities to choose from the best selection of Texas native plants, typically almost 300 species. The events feature artists and authors signing their works in the store and guided walks and talks and tips for your garden from experts.

Fall Plant Sale:  October 18 and 19 with a member preview on October 17
Spring Plant Sale: April 11 and 12,  preview on April 10

On Plant Sale weekends:

Hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission $7 adults, $6 seniors & students, $5 children 5 through 12, members and children under 12 free.

  • Members-only Preview Sale Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday's preview sale is exclusively for members of the Wildflower Center. Become a member online or at the Preview Sale.
  • If possible, bring your own wagon to haul your purchases
  • Plants may be purchased and held for pick-up
  • Enjoy guided walks of the gardens every hour

Online Species List - Species list and photos available here. This gives you an idea of what has been offered at previous sales. The list for each sale is updated several weeks before the sale. Availability of species is subject to change. Some species available only in limited quantities and sizes.

Seeds - Also at the sale are seeds from Native American Seed.

Plant Sale Activities

These activities are scheduled for both Saturday & Sunday:

  • Guided tours on the hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; meet at the Courtyard Spring.
  • Learn how to start seeds in Ecopots with your little one; under the Info Tent
  • The Little House will be open, but there will not be a room monitor. It will be self-guided activities, such as coloring sheets (parents or guardians must supervise their children at all times.)
  • Enter to win a prize pack valued at over $100 in the Courtyard!

In the Store

  • October 17: Roy Morey lectures on his book, Little Big Bend at 11 am in the auditorium, followed by a book signing in the store until 1:30. Texas Traditions jelly and jam tasting, noon to 3 pm in the store. Garden tools and gardeners soap on special all weekend.
  • October 18: Molly Dannenmeier signs A Child’s Garden. Patsy Pittman Light signs Capturing Nature. Both events, noon to 3 pm in the store. Opening in the McDermott Learning Center: Art by Linda Calvert Jacobson. Meet the artist from noon to 2 pm.
  • October 19: Greg Lasley signs the new Greg Lasley’s Texas Wildlife Portraits, noon to 3 pm in the store.

New Plants Offered at Plant Sale

Don't throw those plastic pots away! Bring them to the Wildflower Center for us to reuse. Only 4 inch, 1 gallon or 5 gallon pots, please. A collection bin will be at the front entrance.
